Asanda Alberca Mavodze

About

Asanda is an Honours student in Biochemistry at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, having completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Physiology at the University of South Africa.

Currently, Asanda is engaged in a multidisciplinary research project focused on computational metabolomics. This project involves the application of cutting-edge computational tools and strategies to investigate the phytochemistry and biochemistry of South African medicinal plants, particularly the Plectranthus species. Through this work, Asanda aims to elucidate the chemical profiles and biological activities of these plants, contributing to the broader understanding of natural products biosynthetic pathways and networks. This research has the potential to uncover novel metabolites with significant medicinal value, thereby advancing the field of natural product chemistry.
