About
Eduardo is a concurrent Ph.D. candidate in Applied Biology and Ecology from the University of La Serena, Chile. He earned a bachelor’s in chemistry at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In 2020, it was incorporated into the Alexandra Stoll Research Group at the Center of Studies in Arid Zone (CEAZA), La Serena, Chile. Their doctoral research focuses on understanding the plant metabolism modulations by plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) native to Chilean arid zones to improve plant conditions against drought stress using a biochemical approach. This topic is associated with research on implementing new analytical methodologies for metabolites from plants and microorganisms and obtaining the bacteria stabilized for applications in agriculture. In addition, research about the characterizations of the phytochemistry and biological capacities in the Native Chilean plant. Eduardo is a doctorate candidate visiting the Tugizimana Lab to learn and research the applications of metabolomics to understand the metabolic modulations by PGPR in tomato plants with drought stress.
