I’m Anela Keke born and raised in East London, South Africa. I completed my BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology (2023) and BSc Hons in Biochemistry (2024) at the University of Fort Hare. My honors research, titled “Comparison of AlphaFold 3 and traditional biochemical tools in predicting the interactions between mutations of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and human ACE2 receptor,” explored the potential of AI-driven protein modeling to enhance understanding of viral-host interactions.
Currently I am pursuing MSc in Biochemistry in the University of Johannesburg under the supervision of Dr. Fidele, with co-supervision from Dr. Motseoa and Dr. Morena. My MSc research focuses on computational metabolomics to investigate the impact of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) on the natural products derived from Pelargonium sidoides, a medicinal plant of significant pharmacological interest.
