Blessing is a hardworking and determined young lady from a small town (Murewa) in Zimbabwe who has shown interest in Life Science specializing in Fungi metabolomics a trending field of research in Biochemistry. She is currently enrolled at University of Johannesburg focusing on pathogenic Fungi research which infects economically important crops in South Arica. The project specifically uses different metabolomics tools and aims to explore and apply emerging computational strategies to investigate the metabolome and biochemistry of various plant pathogenic Fungi species. This will provide novel metabolomics atlas and describe the chemistries of these Fungi and key metabolic drivers of the fungi’s lifestyles with potential discovery of novel fungal metabolites. She is under the supervision of Dr F. Tugizimana and the research topic is entitled “Use of Computational metabolomics to investigate the biochemistry of various species of plant pathogenic Fungi”.
