Makwarela Arinolda Muluvhu was born and bred in a village called Tshitungulwane, Vuwani in Limpopo province (South Africa). She holds an Honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Venda where she focused on protein biochemistry by investigating the effects of compounds on Plasmodium falciparum Heat shock protein70-1 conformation. She has since enrolled for her Master’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Johannesburg in which her research project focuses on plant natural products, specifically Investigating the metabolome of Clove plant and its health benefits which is a computational metabolomics study under the supervision of Dr Fidele Tugizimana. Through this work she hopes to generate insights on the medicinal and health benefits of Clove, exploring its diverse pharmacological activities and potential as a natural product powerhouse through computational metabolomics tools.
